Crop a photo to exact dimensions online — no software, no upload

I run tool80.com, and the cropper is one of the tools I reach for most. Here's the straight version: you can crop a photo to an exact size — 1080x1080, 300x250, whatever — right inside your browser. Nothing is installed, nothing is uploaded, and you download a clean PNG or JPG when you're done.

Why crop in the browser at all

Most 'free' croppers ask you to upload the image to a server first. That means your photo — maybe a screenshot with personal data, maybe a product shot you don't want floating around — travels to someone else's machine. The tool80 cropper runs the whole thing on your device. Open dev-tools and watch the network tab: there is no upload request.

The second reason is speed. No sign-up, no 'wait while we process', no watermark slapped on the result. You open the page, drop the image, drag a box, done.

Step 1: Drop in your photo

Open the Image Cropper and click the dashed box, or just drag a file in. JPG, PNG and WEBP all work. The image shows up on a canvas with a movable, resizable crop rectangle.

Step 2: Set the exact size or ratio

This is the part people actually care about. Type a target width and height in pixels and the crop box snaps to that exact dimension. Or pick a preset ratio — square, 16:9, 4:3, 3:2 — and the box keeps that shape as you drag. You can also freely draw a box if you just want 'cut this part out'.

A small tip: if you're cropping for a specific slot (a profile picture, a marketplace thumbnail), set the pixel size first, then position the box. That guarantees the export matches the slot with no surprise resizing later.

Step 3: Download

Hit the crop button, then download as PNG (best when you have sharp lines or text) or JPG (smaller file, fine for photos). The result is exactly the pixels you framed.

Try the free tool: Image Cropper — open it free, no sign-up.

Frequently asked questions

Can I crop to an exact pixel size like 1080x1080?

Yes. Type the width and height in pixels and the crop box locks to that exact dimension, so the exported image is precisely 1080x1080 (or any size you enter).

Does my photo leave my device?

No. The cropping runs entirely in your browser using the Canvas API. The image is never sent to a server, so it stays on your computer.

What formats can I export?

You can download the cropped result as PNG or JPG. PNG keeps sharp edges and transparency; JPG gives a smaller file for photographs.

Is the cropper free?

Yes. There is no account, no paywall and no watermark. Open the page and crop.
