Split one image into 9 tiles for an Instagram grid (九宫格) — free
The '九宫格' (nine-grid) look — one big picture spilt across nine Instagram posts — is a classic. The Image Grid Splitter cuts any photo into a 3x3 (or other) grid and hands you a ZIP of the tiles, all in your browser.
Pick your grid size
Default is 3x3 (nine tiles), but you can set 2x2, 4x4, or any NxN. The tool divides the image evenly so the tiles line up when posted in order. Square source images map cleanest to Instagram's grid; if yours isn't square, the tool can crop to square first.
Post in the right order
Instagram fills a grid left-to-right, top-to-bottom. The tool names tiles so you can post them in sequence (top-left first). Get the order wrong and the picture looks scrambled — the filenames keep it unambiguous.
Download as a ZIP
All tiles are bundled into one ZIP you download at once. Because it's a local Canvas split, the original never leaves your device.
Frequently asked questions
What grid sizes are supported?
Any square NxN grid — 2x2, 3x3, 4x4 and beyond. 3x3 is the standard Instagram 九宫格.
Do I have to post all nine at once?
No, but they must be in the correct left-to-right, top-to-bottom order or the image won't line up. The tile filenames reflect that order.
Is it private?
Yes. The split runs in your browser; the image is never uploaded.
