JSON Formatter & Validator

Paste raw JSON and pretty-print it, validate it, or shrink it to one line. Everything runs locally — your data never leaves the browser.

About this tool

If you've ever copy-pasted an API response into a note and stared at one giant unreadable line, this tool is your friend. It turns that wall of text into something a human can actually read.

Three things it does: formats (pretty-prints with indentation), validates (tells you if the JSON is broken and where), and minifies (collapses it to one line for sending back). Pick whichever you need.

For developers it's a daily thing — cleaning up config, checking a payload before a request, spotting the missing comma that broke your app. For everyone else, it's just a fast way to make messy data tidy.

Private by design: the JSON is parsed right here in your browser. It's not sent to any server, so pasting a chunk of data you'd rather keep quiet is fine. (Anonymous analytics only — see privacy policy.)

Quick tip: if validation fails, the error almost always points at the first bad character. Look one spot before it — missing quote or trailing comma are the usual suspects.

How to use

Paste JSON, then click Format to pretty-print, Minify to collapse, or Validate to check it's well-formed. The result appears below with any error message.
